Reunion 2014 – Update as at 19th Sep

The Secretary, Deputy Chairman and Squadron Liaison Officer,  Flt Lt Dave Staples, met up adjacent to Lyneham Main Gate, albeit under cover and not as protesters, on Thursday September 18th to finalise numbers and iron out any last minute arrangements.

All went well and here are a few bullet points of interest:-

  • It looks like we will have around 50 Members and Guests coming along to this years Reunion on October the 4th.
  • A coach will be available to take the Association party around the site to see over the airfield and a static C130J.
  • The C130J Rear Cockpit Trainer should be available in the afternoon.
  • PROVIDING the A400M Atlas Simulator has been accepted into service, that facility will also be available to view and demo during the afternoon, courtesy of XXIV “C” Flight.
  • The odds on an actual A400m flight are nil, (not quite finished acceptance but close) and 50/50 on a J model being available.
  • Bill Lowe has agreed to step in at this late stage and join the Chairman, President and OC XXIV as one of the after dinner speakers at the Ladies Guest Night.

There is plenty to talk about and discuss in the run up to next years Centenary celebrations. So here’s looking forward to another Grand Day Out – The Committee.
